Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here could help me out at all? I am planning to write my dissertation on street art. I’m specifically interested in looking at the changing relationship between street art and the art institution, particularly in light of the new Banksy exhibit.
I have put together a few questions and would be really grateful for any opinions and feedback?

- What is the appeal of street art, to both artists and enthusiasts?
- Artists; what influences and inspires your work? And what effect or response do you want it to create with it?
- Do you feel that there is a value in the fact that street art exists outside the institution?
- Are exhibits like Banksys helping Street art realise its full potential (eg. Reaching more people, not running the risk of having it taken down immediately) or damaging it somehow?
- Do you think it can be considered street art when it is displayed in a museum?
- And does it have the same effect?

Anything would be appreciated!
